Is this the future of personal computing?
Samsung
I think I would be fine with a chrome book, but I sure like my apple hardware.

I love using my Chromebook at work since most things I do there is web based and the cloud printing was easy to set up with a WiFi printer.

Spoiler: nope. Any modern game would set it on fire.

When I switched from one of those to a MacBook for work, the lack of the Search key drove me absolutely insane. I thought it was ridiculous when I first bought a Chromebook but it soon superseded my family and food in terms of things I can’t live without.

I haven’t played a game on a PC in 12 years.

Depends on what you consider a modern game, I guess. A lot of chromebooks now play android games, which I guess are modern games now, judging by the posture of the new kids we’re hiring...

A Toshiba Chromebook 2 is my only portable PC, and has been for a bit more than a year now. It’s great, I got a super-light, super-thin PC with an SSD for less than $300. For writing, browsing, and video, it works great, and for video chatting it works better than my tower (which is my fault for cheaping out on the wireless card, but I digress).
I’ve been wanting to upgrade to a touchscreen model like the new Samsung, but I’ve held off because a) I want it to serve as a tablet/laptop hybrid which makes it hard to tell if I should go for the ARM version (Plus) or spend the money for the Pro, and b) there’s been tons of reports of touchscreen failures (ghost touching mostly) that really make me worried about it and to a degree any touchscreen Chromebook.

For everyone whose Windows installs I’ve helped fix? Yes, please.

I play solitaire on my phone, so I don’t care about games.

But these are just web based games and new chromebooks have plenty of you for that.

Oh yeah surely. I want something with some oomph this time and relegate the N64 PS1 and SNES emulation to a GPD Win. It’s a handheld laptop basically.
